Bearing Witness-Pop-Up @ Media Creation Lab – one week

Bearing Witness is a project that centers the experiences of graduate students who have encountered harassment online in response to their research. Over the past year, our team has gathered stories from graduate students at York regarding their encounters with research harassment. We then shared anonymized interview transcripts with artist-researchers, who are also students at York, to create artworks that shine a light on the experiences of their peers.

As a culmination of this project, we will be taking over the Media Creation Lab with original artworks and a documentary film. We will be hosting events for groups of students, faculty and staff from the York University community with an interest in digital methods, knowledge mobilization and research.
